純棉織品耐熱能良好，在攝氏110℃以下時，只會引起織物上水分蒸發(fā)，不會損傷纖維，所以純棉織物在常溫下，穿著使用，洗滌印染等對織品都無影響，由此對提高了純棉織品耐洗耐穿服用性能。

棉纖維對堿的抵抗能力較大，棉纖維在堿溶液中，纖維不發(fā)生破壞現(xiàn)象，該性能有利于服用后對污染的洗滌，除雜質(zhì)，同時也可以對純棉紡織品進行染色、印花及各種工藝加工，以產(chǎn)生更多棉織新品種。
